CSC Certification

Cornerstone is a voluntary and market-based certification system for responsible extraction of aggregates. It will provide a way for the communities and the market to:
• Recognize aggregate operations that meet the highest environmental and social standards; and
• Preferentially purchase aggregates that comes from these operations.

Certification Process
Certification is the process by which aggregate sites are independently evaluated against an environmental and social standard. It is not, nor is it intended to be, a substitute for regulatory and planning processes, but provides market incentives for progressive operations that are willing to go above and beyond regulatory requirements. On the other side, it gives public and private purchasers the ability to influence operations through their buying decisions. President's Message
For all the Votorantim Cimentos North American companies, sustainability means serving customers and growing our business while respecting the current and future needs of the environment, society and the areas that surround our operations. We achieve this sustainability vision by being a good neighbour who is an active part of the communities where we work and live; by constantly monitoring our interaction with the environment; and by researching, developing and using eco-efficient processes and advanced materials. We are committed to balancing safe, sustainable operations with producing world-class products that support construction, infrastructure improvements, employment and local economies.

At CBM, we are extremely proud to have gained Cornerstone Standards Council (CSC) certification at our Codrington pit. The core principles adopted by CSC align with our values and vision for a future of responsible aggregate extraction. We intend to maintain CSC Certification through the life of the Codrington Pit and look forward to working with CSC as we make a positive, long-term impact.
